In this one-hour webinar hosted by Charted Psychologists, Sharon Chan and Simon Shaw from The Educational Guidance Service, we will explore what takes place during a SpLD assessment.

During this webinar, you can expect:

  • To learn what tasks a student would be asked to complete during an SpLD assessment.
  • The opportunity to try first-hand some of the tasks used in an SpLD assessment.
  • To be shown example results and explore how these help potentially identify certain SpLDs.

Get to know our speakers

Sharon Chan

Sharon is a chartered psychologist and an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society. Sharon has been practicing nearly 20 years. During that time she has gained vast experience in psychometric testing / diagnostic assessments / training and development across different sectors including local government, education, not for profit and health.

Sharon joined The Educational Guidance Service in 2019 after having worked as a Consultant Psychologist with EGS for a couple of years prior. At EGS, alongside delivering diagnostic assessments for SpLDs, Sharon has also been working on training design / delivery and revamping the EGS CPD offering – e.g. technical training to psychologists at EGS, CPD / upskilling sessions for disability and wellbeing advisors at HEIs.

Simon Shaw

Simon is a Chartered Occupational Psychologist who has worked for The Educational Guidance Service since 2015. He has over 20 years' experience in psychometric testing, coaching, training and assessment. In his current role, he works with students to identify specific learning difficulties (including dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, autism and ADHD) and helps to recruit and train new psychologists.
